The Parable of the Growing Seed (from Mark 4)

26He also said, "This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come."

props to my brother Charles for bringin' this one back to my remembrance (www.openingsalvocr.blogspot.com ) man, when I don't write things down they fly away...
So anyways, the Lord drew me to this parable in Mark that I hadn't ever read before (that I could recall) and I wondered at the meaning of it, as well as the revealing of it at this particular point in my life.
Truthfully, I'm still wondering at it, mostly because I haven't figured out how to dwell in the chaos that perpetually assails my household and daily routine. I know that there is promise and truth contained within these Scriptures in this season,if I will be patient and diligent to pause and consider them.

God grant that my faithfulness to study and contemplation would increase. Omaine.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance. Lord, from heaven You look down and see all mankind; from Your dwelling place You watch all who live on earth--You who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything we do. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. But Your eyes are on those who fear You, on whose whose hope is in Your unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine; I wait in hope for You Lord; You are my help and my shield. In You my heart rejoices, for I trust in Your holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon me, O Lord, even as I put my hope in you. Praise be to You and Hallelujah to the King! In Your name, amen. (based on Psalm 33:12-22)

baaa...

aren't I the sheepish one. So that post a wee bit back about the listening prayer, the one where I admitted that I often say I will do something and then it leaves my mind and I forget about it? Yup, forgot about doing the exercise. heehee, I have to laugh at myself at this point, because the guy who's website I lifted it from left me a comment (you can read it for yourself, then laugh along with me!).

Praise the Lord for abundant grace...I'll give it another go, and this time I'll enlist some accountability. And post-it notes.

I'm also going to suggest you check out a website. There's a whole newsletter there, and you can buy Jersak's books. I know you all who are readin' this blog and how our whole community worked that listening prayer over but only bought one book...how're we gonna go and be so cheap! Plus, I read about a new book they've got comin' out. It's called "kissing the leper" and that's right up our alley considering our 'touch the untouchable and love the unlovely' vision.

OH and, I never properly linked the site - www.the-god-who-speaks.blogspot.com

Grace.
